UAE taxation
VAT Services
VAT touches almost every invoice your business issues or receives. We help you register correctly, file accurate returns on time and keep the records the Federal Tax Authority expects.

The challenge
VAT errors are easy to make and costly to fix: registering late, charging the wrong rate, reclaiming input tax that isn't recoverable, or missing a filing deadline can all lead to penalties and uncomfortable conversations with the tax authority.
How Lexor helps
We assess whether and when you need to register, prepare your VAT returns from properly reconciled records, and review how VAT is applied in your invoicing — so your filings are accurate and you understand the numbers behind them.

Compliance considerations
Summary for general guidance only, reviewed October 2026. Tax and regulatory rules change — confirm current requirements with the official authority or speak to us about your situation.
- The standard UAE VAT rate is 5%, with zero-rating and exemptions for specific categories of supply.
- Registration is generally mandatory when taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months, or are expected to within the next 30 days. Voluntary registration is generally available from AED 187,500.
- VAT returns are generally filed quarterly (or monthly where the FTA requires it) and are due by the 28th day after the end of the tax period.
- Late registration, late filing and incorrect returns can attract administrative penalties.
